How to Go Achievementing on Multiple Toons [without losing your sanity]

I constantly get asked how I manage to do holiday achievements on multiple toons without spending insane amounts of time on it or losing your mind.  So I’m going to give you my tips and tricks.

1. Make a list.  Figure out what you want to accomplish and on how many toons.  Actually take the step of writing it down… whether on paper or in a notepad file.

2. Budget your time.  It may mean you have to hunt achievements rather than instance, or work on whatever else… but it can be done.  If the holiday lasts for 3 weeks, budget everything within a week’s time, or two.  That way you have flexibility built into your schedule.  If you’re a dps, the queue time on your random daily should provide a small amount of time to work on some of this too… so don’t be afraid to queue up.  Also, do a little research and see if someone has discovered the quickest path through the achievements.

3. For dungeon achievements that can be completed in regulars… consider queuing up in your tank/heals offspec [or mainspec] if you have one.  Just be prepared to finish the run as well.  Most northrend regulars would love an experienced tank or healer… and if it’s your offspec, you could use some practice in a more “safe” environment.

  1. I’m just to lazy to do all the holiday achievements. For some folks, it’s something they love to do, for that feeling of accomplishment in game, to be completists, what have you. And that’s cool. For me, it’s just nothing that I care to do. But I’ll help out folks if they ask.
