Something that Caught My Eye on the Patch Notes…

Known Issues

  • Some tooltips may not reflect the most recent changes to certain abilities.
  • Worgen hunters are currently unable to learn Dual Wield.
  • The achievement Explore Tol Barad will not be possible to complete upon release of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.

That is straight from the patch notes for the Shattering – 4.0.3a

We’re already getting notified of bugs that WILL BE IN Cataclysm upon release?  Not a good sign.  So Cataclysm is going to be more of the same “release it before it’s ready” policy they have now?

*is not impressed*

  1. Not surprising. I think people are kidding themselves if they think Cataclysm will be playable right at midnight on release day. Servers will be up and down, bugs will keep plenty of people from getting anything done, and the next two weeks will be full of patches, hotfixes, and QQing from the masses.

  2. I would totally work FOR FREE as a tooltip checker. I go bananas when, for instance, Decimate says “Your next Soulfire will be instant cast” and I cast my 2-sec instant Soulfire.
All of the known bugs bug me out, why couldn’t they fix it BEFORE Cata launch? I’ve seen hotfixes take shorter, like the lol-caster OPness and the melee’s sad DPS.
Still, seems I can’t quit the game and I wonder why.

  3. This is just a pure guess, but it is possible that this is not a bug, strictly speaking. The Exploration achievement may not be available at launch because Blizzard may be planning to implement one of the subzones later (the Raid zone, for example). If this subzone is not present at launch, but is part of the achievement, then the achievement is impossible to get even though everything is working fine.
