Tanaan Legendary Pet Battles

I’m compiling this list of Tanaan Pet Teams I use, for my ease as well as my husband’s.  Most are from Wowhead so I’ll be giving credit/linking comments.  I’m not trying to steal anyone else’s discoveries but as I said, to make a list easy and readable.  I’m also not ashamed of using the powerful howl-bomb strategy, so at least half the fights will be that or some variation thereof.  Even those will have a variation on whether Chrominimus Bites of uses Surge of Power.

The pets needed for this: Zandalari Anklerender, Chrominimus, Anubisath Idol, Pandaren Water Spirit, Nexus Whelpling, Draenic Micro Defender, Emerald Whelpling, Alpine Foxling [or other fox]

Also optional – ChiChi, Teroclaw Hatchling, Molten Corgi

CORRUPTED THUNDERTAIL
Zandalari Anklerender – 2/2/2
Chrominimus – 1/1/2
Anubisath Idol – 1/1/1

Have Anklerender do Primal Cry, then Black Claw and then Hunting Party.  When it dies, use Chrominimus to Bite.  Finish off remaining pets.

FELFLY
Nexus Whelpling – 1/2/2
Emerald Proto Whelp – 2/2/2
Anything [I put in Emerald Whelpling] – 2/1/1
Strategy by Kalscension on Wowhead
Have Nexus Whelpling cast Arcane Storm, then Mana Surge.  Felfly should be dead by end of mana surge.  Finish off remaining pets.

DREADWALKER
Pandaren Water Spirit – 1/2/2

Basic Howl Bomb Strategy – Cast Geyser and then Whirlpool with PWS, swap to Chrominimus and cast Howl, then Bite.  Finish off the remaining two random pets.  Highly recommend keeping up Emerald Presence if/when you get to the whelp as it mitigates a lot of damage.  Use Emerald Dream at about half health.

Basic Howl Bomb Strategy – Cast Geyser and then Whirlpool with PWS, swap to Chrominimus and cast Howl, then Bite.  Finish off the remaining two random pets.  Highly recommend keeping up Emerald Presence if/when you get to the whelp as it mitigates a lot of damage.  Use Emerald Dream at about half health.  The poster recommends Rapana Whelk originally, though concludes EPW is a bit faster.  In my experience, RNG can mess with you on this fight, just start over if so.

MIRECROAK

Basic Howl Bomb Strategy – Cast Geyser and then Whirlpool with PWS, swap to Chrominimus and cast Howl, then Surge of Power if needed.  Finish off the remaining two random pets.  Highly recommend keeping up Emerald Presence if/when you get to the whelp as it mitigates a lot of damage.  Use Emerald Dream at about half health.  If Mirecroak’s Kiss gets off on Chrominimus is can mess this strategy up.  If it does, I recommend forfeiting and starting again.

Hazel recommends Chi Chi in the third slot but I didn’t have him, so I just put in the standard EPW.  Cast Metal Fist, then Reflective Shield and then Ion Cannon.  Fel Pup will kill himself on the shield.  Finish off the remaining pets per usual.  This video has the best strategy I’ve seen for this fight.

Chrominimus – 1/1/2

Strategy by varenne on Wowhead
Have Chrominimus cast Howl, then pass for one turn.  Use Surge of Power and then Bite once or twice.  Use Anubisath to finish if not, and then finish the remaining two pets.

Cast Water Jet 3 times, then cast Geyser and Whirlpool per normal. Swap to Chrominimus and use Howl then Bite or Surge of Power.  Use Surge if the legendary has more than 500 health – it usually does for me.   Finish off remaining pets.

Geyser and Whirlpool with PWS, swap to Fox and cast Howl, then Bite twice.  Finish off remaining two pets.

Geyser, Whirlpool, swap to Chrominimus and Howl.  Finish off remaining pets.  The strategy recommends Teroclaw as the third pet but Emerald Proto Whelp works wonderfully here as well.  I’ve successfully done it with each one multiple times.  I prefer EPW, but that’s because it has the healing.

DEFILED EARTH
Pandaren Water Spirit – 1/2/2

This strategy involves using Inferno Herding to prompt the secondary pets to swap places and take them out and then use the typical howl-bomb on the Legendary pet.  So use Inferno Herding, Cauterize when you get about half health, and keep barking at the first pet.  When it dies, inferno herding again to swap to the other secondary.  Kill it, and then swap to the PWS – Geyser, Whirlpool and then swap to Chrominimus for Howl and Bite or Surge of Power
