State of Things

My main’s doing quite well at this point in the expansion.  I’m exalted with all the reps except Shadopan [16k/21k] and August Celestials [9k/21k].  I’ve maxed out every profession at least once, so I have access to them all on my main server.  I’ve gotten two alts to 90 – including my horde alt on another server [yay achievements!]

I’ve killed Heroic Nefarian, finished the “Glorious” achievement of killing the rares, managed Galleon kills two times [got nothing], am best friends with everyone on the farm and even have my second alt to 90 exalted with the tillers [and all I did on her was login, replant her farm and do the tiller dailies in 15 mins or so].  I’ve done a couple Firelands retro runs, and even killed the first boss of Mogushun Vaults with whomever we could pull together in guild and a couple out of guild friends.  We also got the second boss to 26%.

Pet Battles have been what’s fallen to the wayside.  I know they’ve captured most people’s attention instead of all the other but for me it’s been the reverse.  I really want to do more for that in the coming few weeks as I’d like to get the upper level pets and I’d be ready for 5.1.  It just… well the grind to get a level 25 pet seems so painful looking.  My highest level pet is 10 right now.

I would post some screen shots, but at the moment I am without my computer 😦  The hard drive died and since I have the laptop [and access to Venoym’s computer during the day], we decided it would be easier just to wait till the weekend to swap some drives about.  So, when he can move the data over, I will have some screenies, though I have posted a few things on twitpic.

National Novel Writing Month is this month and I have written a bit thus far…  I’m still not sure I’m participating.  I’ve already written 125k this year [my goal was 100k, but I revised that and raised it to 150k] so I’m not sure I want to push myself to cram another 50k in but I’m writing daily as is…  I may just see what happens.

DEATHWING IS DEAD!

We killed 8/8 tonight in 3 hours!  WOOT!  What a Valentine’s present to ourselves!

Group Makeup:
Tanks: Paladin/Death Knight
Healers: Paladin/Druid/Holy Priest
DPS: Paladin/Rogue/Hunter/Mage/Priest

Gratz guys and fantastic job!  Go Firestorm!

Askevar, the Camel Hoarder

Hubby was leveling his rogue out in Uldum and his NPCscan went off indicating a camel figurine nearby.  He summoned me over to help find it and had me take it since I’d brought my main over.

I clicked it and got teleported.  And voila!

I now have a title and feat of strength and a mount I never expected to see 😀

Naturally I was so excited I had the NPCScan thing up during the screen shot… silly me 😛

Spontaneous RP and Retro Raids

The last couple days have been busy!  We ended up leaving our guild and joining another on Azuremyst.  We immediately got pulled into working on the last ICC heroic modes they need – we one shot BQL and two shot Sindy.  Had a few tries at LK but with the raid starting late, had to wait to kill him the next night.  Heroic LK is a crazy wacky fight!  From there we went to Ulduar to hit some hardmodes – Thorim, Freya, Mimiron.  We killed the general the easy way and took a couple shots at Yogg – No lights.

They’ve asked us to come tank for their alt team on Friday and we’re excited 🙂  They’re going to take a shot at Shannox with mostly alts and see what happens.

After the raid last night, my best friend [Endyme] logged on her Death knight over there and I hit a DK on another server and we did a couple instances, catching some guildies on the second one.  BTW, they’ve made lower level tanking worlds easier with the threat buff… or so it seems.  I was able to focus on survivability a lot more rather than fretting over threat constantly.

We then zoned back to Stormwind, expecting to wind down and log off, but apparently spontaneous RP happens – even on PVE servers :P.  I had hopped to my pink haired gnome toon and Endy’s DK was a pink haired gnome.  We ran across a few more pink haired gnomes, discussed conquering the world with our cuteness around a campfire where a nice dwarf supported our cause, had a pool party in the Stormwind fountain, then all accosted those silly Pandaren monks trying to bounce around and look cuter than us.

Cheese Mints!

Today I did a little achievementing and ended up with over 11k achievement points…  not that I’ll catch up with hubby but I did close the gap… he’s only a few hundred ahead and that’s because he’s a rep grinding fiend… and I HATE rep grinding.

Anywho, I finished grinding Kurenai [oh the pain] this morning getting diplomat in the process and and therefore bought the 8 mounts they had for me to reach the 100 mounts.

And then this afternoon, a friend of ours was on and he hopped into raid with us and we three manned five bosses in AQ40 and got the rep I needed for Nozdormu.   I was really close anywho, but it was nice to finish!

Next on the plate:

150 pets [I’m 6 5 3 short currently]

– Exalted with Keepers of Time, Kaluak, Netherwing, Shatari Skyguard, Ogrilla, Hydraxian Waterlords, Stormpike, Oracles [over time of course – some of these I’m not interested in starting just yet]

-Finish redoing the zones for the post Cata achievements – I have 9 zones to go, all in Kalimdor [Ashenvale; Darkshore; Desolace; Dustwallow; Felwood; Feralas; Stonetalon; Southern Barrens; and 1000 Needles – at least one of these will provide a pet].

– Do more work on Archaeology if I can… ugh.

Regrinding Guild Reputation

Regrinding guild rep doesn’t seem quite as onerous as people think, unless you just hate dailies [and I know some people are of that mind and hey, it’s cool – we all gotta play our own ways!].  But there are a number of ways to regain guild reputation.  In fact, you can easily be exalted with your new guild in about 4-5 weeks, more if you’re more casual about raids/dailies.  Either of the BOA tabards will enhance rep gained per boss/instance/daily.  You can either bring it with you or gain it at Friendly [blue tabard for 50% gains] or Honored [purple tabard for 100% rep gains].

1. Raids – Guild raids give quite a bit of rep.  Hubby and I have been attending our new guild’s farm night where they blaze through T11 raids.  Alts are welcome, but we’ve honestly been glad to just play our mains and gain the Valor points and Guild rep that comes with it.

2. Guild Dungeons.  Five mans with three or more guildies will give Guild Rep [more with more guildies].  We’ve managed to catch a few of these as well and it’s been really profitable reputation-wise.

3. Daily Quests – While one might think that the Molten Front dailies would be ideal, most of the dailies actually inside the Molten Front are unaffected by the Guild Tabards.  So while the outside quests do provide double rep with the tabard, and are worth doing, I’d skip the inside ones unless you aren’t finished opening everything up.  The Tol Barad quests are actually very good for guild rep as all of them become double rep with the tabard.

EDIT: Apparently zoning into the Molten Front deactivates the tabard and if you remove it and re-equip it, the tabard gains will work appropriately.
